Pickled Dill Green Beans
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb. fresh green beans
- 1-1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1-1/3 cup water
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 6 cloves garlic
- small handful fresh dill-weed sprigs
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes or to taste
Instructions
Beans

Wash and trim beans.

Peel and whack garlic cloves with side of knife.

Steam or parboil the beans for about 3 minutes, until tender but still crisp.

Run cold water over beans to stop cooking process (they'll continue to soften in the hot liquid you're about to pour over them).
Pickling liquid

Bring vinegar, water, sugar, and salt to a boil and boil for 1 minute.
Assembly

Place beans, garlic, and dill in container with a lid.

Pour hot liquid over beans.

If canning, follow directions at link above.

If not canning, let cool.

If you didn't can them, cover and refrigerate.
Recipe Notes
Refrigerate for at least several days to allow flavors to blend before serving.
