Sour Cream Apple Pie or Crisp
Slightly different apple pie with a crumbly top.
Ingredients
- Filling:
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3 cups peeled sliced apples (or enough to fill your pan)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pie shell 9 inch
- Topping:
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup oatmeal
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold butter
Instructions

Mix filling dry ingredients.

Add wet ingredients.

Beat to a smooth, thin batter.

Stir in apples.

For pie: Place in the pie shell.

For crisp: Sprinkle some of topping (below) in a 9" pie pan, then pour in apples.

Combine topping ingredients, cutting in butter till about pea-sized lumps.

Sprinkle over apple filling.

Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until apples are done and topping is bubbly and browned.
